It is hoped further projects will be possible in the future, and if you or your company would like to offer support for these, please contact us<\/a><\/p>\n Brooklands Museum – The \u2018Spirit of Brooklands’ is the birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation.<\/p>\n The Museum is open throughout the year, 7 days a week and Bank Holidays from 10 am to 4 pm in Winter, and 5pm in Summer.\u00a0\u00a0 Current projects include re-assembling Concorde G-BBDG, and there are regular events involving vintage and classic vehicles and aircraft events.<\/p>\n The Build-a-Plane Project has been registered G-TSOB, The Spirit Of Brooklands, in honour of your support and encouragement.<\/p>\n SEMPTA -The initials stand for Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies Alliance and is the Sector Skills Council for these areas.\u00a0 As such it is involved with around 100,000 UK companies employing 2.5 million workers through the development of the skilled workforce.\u00a0 This involves maintaining the supply of sufficient numbers of skilled workers through apprenticeships and training, and developing new working techniques to increase productivity and quality of work.<\/p>\n LAA -The Light Aircraft Association is the representative body in the United Kingdom for amateur aircraft construction, recreational and sport flying.\u00a0 It supervises and advises on engineering matters, offers pilot coaching courses, negotiates with the relevant national bodies on Airworthiness and Pilot Licensing issues, and defends members’ General Aviation interests.<\/p>\n BAA – The British Airports Authority owns seven UK airports, including the world’s busiest international airport, Heathrow, and is involved with ten airports outside the UK.\u00a0 They are at the heart of the world’s transport network and the airports are the gateways to and from the cities and countries they serve.\u00a0 Every year, they take care of nearly 200 million passengers travelling through their airports.<\/p>\n AOPA – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association UK (AOPA UK) today along with over 400,000 members in 50 countries, is the largest association for pilots in the world and you are entitled to lots of benefits, covers, offers plus a lot more!<\/p>\n LAAET – The Light Aircraft Association Educational Trust (LAAET) is the charitable arm of the LAA. The LAAET is a new Charitable company set up to \u2018advance the education of the public in aviation, in particular the design and construction of aircraft, aircraft systems and the operation of aircraft\u2019.\u00a0 It is a major source of funding for Youth & Education Support which promotes Youth Aviation in the UK.<\/p>\n Skycraft – Skycraft Ltd. (www.sky-craft<\/a>.co.uk<\/a>) \u00a0are UK agents for the world famous Rans kit planes, and could be your gateway to the sky. With nearly 4000 aircraft flying world wide Rans inc are one of the most successful and prolific kit plane manufacturers of today.\u00a0\u00a0 They are suppliers of the Build-a-Plane Project Rans Coyote II kit, and have been most helpful with advice and support for the project.<\/p>\n Air Cadets – Aged 13 to 20, and their supporting staff get the opportunity to participate in a large range of stimulating and rewarding activities, including learning to fly aerobatics, visiting Royal Air Force Stations, touring foreign countries, and doing numerous sporting and adventurous pursuits.\u00a0 The Annual PFA Flying event would be very difficult to run without the ATC cadets helping out from marshalling aircraft to controlling the visitors.\u00a0 Much of the Project Plane was assembled by ATC Cadets.<\/p>\n Scouts – The Scout Association is active in more than 216 countries and territories with more than 28 million members worldwide.\u00a0 Each day 100,000 people in the UK take part in Scouting activities including abseiling, canoeing, archery, caving, climbing and karting, all relatively inexpensively.\u00a0 Almost 10% of members in the UK are girls and young women.\u00a0 Manchester Scouts helped build the fuselage of the ‘Spirit of Brooklands’ plane.<\/p>\n Pilot Magazine – Pilot magazine has been published for more than 35 years and has won more awards for the quality and authority of its journalism than any other UK flying magazine.\u00a0 Pilotweb is the website of Pilot magazine, the UK’s best-selling general aviation monthly magazine.\u00a0 The magazine and the website work together to offer an enhanced and interactive service to Pilot readers and subscribers.<\/p>\n Besso Limited – The Aviation Insurance team has been with Besso since 1997, although the Team itself has been together in excess of 10 years.
